Monday February 15: Depart Merida for Villahermosa. We will drive along the Gulf of Mexico and then inland. Overnight at the Hotel Independencia

Tuesday February 16: Today, we’ll drive through the Sierra Madre mountains to El Cañon del Sumidero. We’ll take a river trip and then continue to San Cristobal de las Casas. We will stay the next three nights at the Hotel Palacio de Monctezuma. Free evening

Wednesday February 17: We’ll begin our day with a walking tour of downtown San Cristobal and the Santo Domingo artisan market. Free time to shop and explore the city. There will be an optional afternoon tour to Na-Bolom Museum. Free evening

Thursday February 18: Morning tour to the villages of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan, returning to San Cristobal at about 2 pm. The rest of the afternoon and evening will be free for you to spend as you please

Friday February 19: Depart San Cristobal de las Casas. We’ll drive down the mountains to Palenque. Check into Hotel Plaza Palenque. Dinner together at the hotel

Saturday February 20: Sightseeing at the archaeological site of Palenque. Drive to Campeche. Overnight in Campeche at the Hotel America

Sunday February 21: Walking tour of the city of Campeche. Free time for shopping or lunch. Return to Merida
